The Wild Beasts Singer-songwriter Hayden Thorpe visits Low Four Studio for an in-depth conversation and live performance centred around his acclaimed album Ness.

Inspired by the extraordinary landscape of Orford Ness on the Suffolk coast, Ness is a collaboration between Hayden Thorpe and writer Robert Macfarlane. Once a secret military testing site and now a National Trust nature reserve, Orford Ness provides the backdrop for a work that explores themes of landscape, conflict, ecology, memory and renewal.

Across this intimate film, Hayden discusses the origins of the project, his collaboration with Macfarlane, the transformative power of place, and how Ness became both a cautionary tale and a story of hope. Interwoven with the conversation are powerful live performances from the album, offering a rare insight into one of his most ambitious and deeply personal works.
