Jemma Freese & Jennifer Walinetski x Hallé

Composer Jemma Freese and percussionist Jennifer Walinetski team up with the Hallé orchestra to reimagine two tracks from their debut album.

In the film, the accomplished alt-pop duo discuss how they already had arranging experience but the project forced them into new ways of thinking. “We were approaching it by thinking about the piece as a whole, whereas Chris [Emerson] from the Hallé made us consider what each individual player is actually doing.” As part of series of films, produced by Low Four Studio and the Hallé, supported by the PRS Foundation, Jemma and Jennifer were one of four new Manchester (UK) artists given the opportunity to write, arrange, perform and record with the world famous orchestra. Three other films featuring Manchester artists are also now available to watch, with Ellen Beth Abdi, glue70, and Elf Traps. Jemma Freese and percussionist Jennifer Walinetski performed Fields and Nosedive, originally taken their debut album released album in 2025, Has Your Mind Trailed On.
